Planning of cultural masterplan, cultural development policy and cultural identity (brand) for selected regions of the country
The project "Design of a cultural masterplan, cultural development policy and cultural identity (brand) for selected regions of the country" is coordinated by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in collaboration with the Research University Institute for Regional Development of Panteion University, the University of the Aegean and iTED Lab on behalf of the Ministry of Culture and Sports with resources from the Recovery and Resilience Fund and focuses on exploring the role of regionalism, insularity and the small size of the cultural landscape of the Greek subregions, but also the role of culture and cultural policies in local development. More specifically, it seeks to answer the following key questions:
• How can culture and creativity be elements of economic and social development for remote and island regions and cities;
• How can local and regional planning/design processes include culture and creativity in coherent development programmes;
• How can a strategy be designed that maximises the benefit of place branding tools;
Upon completion of the project, new "toolkits" will be created, which can be used by cultural policy makers and implementers at local level (regions, municipalities, etc.), in order to organize and manage local cultural products in the best possible way.
