Deliverables

The present National Skills Profile Report for Greece (Country Skills Survey Report) is the basis of a comprehensive overview of:

• the current situation regarding the provision of Digital, Green and Social skills training for the main types of education/training providers
• the analysis of the results of the survey in Greece, which was conducted among tourism professionals, HR managers and decision-makers
• current developments in tourism, trends in tourism employment and the existing gaps between current skill levels in the tourism industry and the future skills required for 2030
• a list of best practices (i.e. innovative initiatives, projects, programmes, philosophies, tools, methods, ideas, solutions and concepts) in relation to upgrading skills, retraining, attracting and retaining human resources in order to improve knowledge on the development of Digital, Social and Green skills in tourism.

In the framework of the AIM2SUSTAIN research project, the Guide to sustainability as a competence-skill in the HoReCa sector was created, which serves as a comprehensive roadmap, offering practical ways to address important sustainability issues in hospitality, catering and catering businesses. The Guidelines were developed by gathering insights from a comprehensive survey of HoReCa stakeholders and vocational education and training educators in the seven partner countries of the project.

The purpose of this study, which was funded by the Institute of the Hellenic Tourism Business Association (INSEETE), is the documented categorization of the main groups of competencies - skills that the human resources of tourism businesses and destinations must possess or develop. At the same time, the study makes policy proposals for the upgrading of tourism education - training in Greece and analyses the interventions that are recommended to be implemented at institutional and operational level.
